The London Borough of Enfield (LBE) is the most northerly borough of Greater London and is home to nearly 340,000 people. Enfield has multiple communication links and is one the greenest boroughs in London with over a hundred parks and open spaces. With its close proximity to beautiful countryside as well as being just 13 miles from central London, it’s no surprise that it is such a sought-after place to love.
Enfield is London’s northern most London borough, bordering Hertfordshire to the north with the M25 motorway (Junction 25). Its proximity to London and the countryside with its excellent transport links makes it an ideal location for families and commuters. Mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1086, this ancient market town boasts a modern shopping centre.
Enfield Market, dating back over 800 years to 1303 still thrives today each Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It sells everyday wears, fashion and international street food.
Enfield town offers an excellent choice of shopping facilities with stores including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and many more well known high street brands in Palace Gardens Shopping Centre.
It also offers hundreds of pubs, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars, catering for most tastes, as well as a selection of retail and leisure parks including a multi-screen cinema complex.
Over one third of the London Borough of Enfield is Green Belt, meaning that you’re never far from a park or countryside, with a network of country walks, bridal ways and foot paths.
Within LBE there are over fifteen train stations providing direct routes to Central London (Moorgate & Liverpool Street). London Underground’s Piccadilly Line also extends to LBE with stations at Cockfosters, Oakwood and Southgate.
The M25, London’s arterial motorway, abuts LBE’s northerly border with Hertfordshire and can be easily accessed from either Jct 25 (A10 Enfield) or Jct 24 (A1005 or A111 – Potters Bar). The A10 provides a direct route into Central London which intersects with the A406 (North Circular Road).
